The three Republicans vying for the chance to take on Rep. Annie Kuster in November will meet onstage Monday night in the first debate of the GOP NH-02 primary, presented by New Hampshire Journal.
The candidate forum will be held at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics auditorium on Monday, August 1 at 6:00 p.m. It is not open to the general public, but will be broadcast live on Manchester Public TV channel 16 and will stream online as well.
The format will follow the successful GOP U.S. Senate primary hosted by NHJournal in June.
“With recent polling showing potential Republican strength in the midterm elections, we are excited about hosting the first debate in New Hampshire with these candidates,” said NHIOP Executive Director Neil Levesque.
The debate will feature conversations about the new spending proposals from Congress and the debate over the role of the federal government on abortion policy.
All three of the invited GOP candidates have confirmed their attendance:
- Bob Burns
- Keene Mayor George Hansel
- Lily Tang Williams
The 90-minute debate will be moderated by New Hampshire Journal Managing Editor Michael Graham. He will be joined in the questioning by two panelists: Former broadcast journalist and current P.R. executive Tiffany Eddy and NHJournal reporter Damien Fisher.
“These three candidates represent a cross-section of the entire New Hampshire GOP, and this forum will provide an excellent opportunity for Granite State primary voters to evaluate the choices they’re being offered at the ballot box this September,” Graham said. “We’re looking forward to another engaging and informative debate!”
