Entrepreneur and anti-Woke activist Vivek Ramaswamy released the first TV ad of the 2024 GOP presidential primary season Wednesday, nearly a year before the first votes will be cast.
The ad, targeting Iowa and New Hampshire, shows the impact Ramaswamy, a media-savvy tech professional with deep pockets, could have on the nomination process.
“This is part of a multi-prong, seven-figure buy on TV, radio, and digital, so New Hampshire voters can expect much more to come,” a campaign spokesperson told NHJournal.
Ramaswamy, 37, began his career in the biopharmaceutical industry before evolving into a public speaker and media presence opposing ‘woke’ ideology like identity politics, equity over merit, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) investing. In 2021, he founded the anti-ESG investment firm Strive Asset Management.
His estimated net worth is $500 million.
The TV ad, like the candidate, highlights cultural and ideological issues rather than economics.
“This isn’t just a political campaign,” Ramaswamy said. “It’s a cultural movement to revive the ideals that set this nation into motion in 1776, starting in places like New Hampshire. The people in this state understand the Constitution not just in their brains but in their gut. I’m running for president to revive our national identity.”
