NHJournal has learned that The Committee to Defend the President—one of America’s largest pro-Trump super PACs—is targeting New Hampshire with an ad buy in New Hampshire, part of a $100,000 multi-state, pro-Trump push.

Wednesday morning, the Committee will run its recently released “Demanding Justice” ad across the state, touting President Trump’s record of protecting the U.S. from terror. “Foreign policy and national security are big issues for swing voters, and Trump’s success in eliminating Al-Baghdadi and defeating ISIS in Syria and Iraq is critical to voters,”  Ted Harvey, chairman of the Committee told NHJournal. “Plus, New Hampshire is a battleground state that President Trump narrowly lost in 2016. With his record of a strong economy at home and American strength abroad, we believe President Trump is going to very well in New Hampshire.”

Based on the latest polling, President Trump can certainly use the help.  The St. Anselm College Survey Center poll released Tuesday put the incumbent president underwater by -10 points: 44 percent approve, 55 percent disapprove. This matches Trump’s trend for 2019, consistently underwater by double-digit margins in nearly every poll.

Granite State Republican party leaders are undeterred, insisting the polls were wrong in 2016 and that Trump has a hidden margin among disaffected New Hampshire residents who rarely vote, but who will turn out in droves for Donald Trump.

Meanwhile, the Committee to Defend the President continues its work. The PAC is also hiring RightVoter to assist in its grassroots outreach in the Granite State. This includes door-knocking, canvassing, and other initiatives. RightVoter’s Mike Biundo, former senior advisor to Donald Trump for President, tells NHJournal:

“The Committee to Defend the President has been very active here in New Hampshire, on the ground, and now on the airways. The work they are doing to highlight the President’s long record of accomplishments has been very helpful. This ad hits the target and is well done.”
