President Donald Trump’s first 100 days of non-stop action give Granite Staters much to celebrate. So much so that local grassroots activists led by Dave Abare are holding a Flag Wave and a complimentary cookout in Salem on April 30 to show their appreciation.
Why are President Trump supporters so inspired? The reasons are huge, many, and beautiful – spanning personnel, policy, and cultural decisions. The bottom line, however, is that unlike normal politicians, Donald Trump is actually doing what he promised to do.
On the personnel side, the president and Senate have cut through the red tape obstruction of the “Resist” Democrats and announced and confirmed his cabinet with historic speed. Trump’s cabinet positions were all confirmed by March 11, 2025. The president promised drastic reform and has named cabinet members like Marco Rubio, Pete Hegseth, Kash Patel, Kristi Noem, RFK Jr, and others who will do just that. Locally, the administration has appointed three no-nonsense top-quality Granite Staters to senior positions – Rockstar Karoline Leavitt as press secretary, Fred Doucette as New England Administrator for FEMA and Ashley Walukevich as special assistant to the president and Northeast regional political director. These are fantastic appointments, and I understand that several more Granite Stater announcements are imminent.
Policy initiatives have been rolling out fast and furiously.
On Inauguration Day, President Trump signed 26 executive orders. After all, he had four years between terms to plan. In the first 95 days of term 2, Trump signed a record of 139 executive orders (5.8 times more in 2025 compared to the 24 for his first 100 days in 2017). Another 66 proclamations and memoranda have been issued as well. In those executive actions, the president focused on his stated top priorities, shocking the bureaucracy by doing what he said he would do. Within one month,, he addressed his #1 issue and effectively secured the border and started deportations. Border crossings and apprehensions are down ~ 95 percent achieving the lowest daily nationwide apprehensions since records have been kept. President Joe Biden said he could do nothing – that we needed legislation. President Trump told the Joint Session of Congress that all we really needed was “a new president.” Trump was right.
On energy, the ridiculous job-killing orders from Biden were incinerated. A national energy emergency was declared, and the Paris Climate Accords and the Green New Deal were flushed down the drain. Keystone pipeline, ANWR and offshore drilling, and clean coal are all back on the table to help reduce prices and stabilize geopolitical threats of energy blackmail. Gas prices are going down.
Reducing government waste was also a promise made well before the election. In September, candidate Trump said, “At the suggestion of Elon Musk… I will create a Government Efficiency Commission tasked with conducting a complete financial and performance audit of the entire federal government and making recommendations for drastic reforms.” Once again, a promise made and a promise kept. DOGE has identified $160 billion in savings for Fiscal Year 2026. That includes high-profile dubious USAID projects and fraud-like Social Security abuse. Musk and his team are heroic. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon is dismantling the Department of Education while maintaining some core functions, just as candidate Trump promised six months before the election.
Policies intended to bring manufacturing back to America have also been vigorously pursued. Negotiating for fair trade using reciprocal tariffs, holding China accountable for intellectual property theft, and securing trillions in committed investments are just a few of the plethora of actions taken to enhance job creation in America.
On the cultural front, President Trump has delivered as well, taking a sledgehammer to the divisive DEI and Woke policies of the Biden administration. Transgender indoctrination is ending. Men are no longer celebrated by the White House as winners in women’s sports. Religious liberty and free speech are again supported. Americans are prioritized over illegal alien criminal gang members. Merit is back. Military recruitment is surging to 15-year highs.
We have so much to be thankful for already, but there is more to accomplish. The pace is relentless. And why not. We are 100 days in, with only 1,360 to go. President Trump is doing exactly what he promised to do if elected. There is no time to waste. He has a country to save.
