The president of the United States has a duty under Article II of our Constitution to take care that our laws be faithfully executed. As commander-in-chief of our armed forces, he is duty-bound to protect the country.

But instead of doing his job, President Joe Biden has enacted policies that threaten public safety, national security, and our nation’s borders by largely prohibiting federal law enforcement officials from carrying out the mission of the Department of Homeland Security. President Biden has failed to faithfully execute the Immigration and Nationality Act, thereby enabling preventable harm to our communities.

In his first 100 days in office, Biden signed 94 immigration-related executive actions which encouraged a surge in illegal border crossings, including halting construction of the effective border wall and ending the previous administration’s successful “Remain in Mexico” policy. President Biden also decreed through memorandum that countless locations within America shall be “protected” areas for illegal immigrants, thereby creating a nationwide sanctuary policy.

He has gutted immigration enforcement within the nation’s interior, arrested 48 percent fewer convicted criminals, deported 63 percent fewer criminals, and issued 46 percent fewer detainer requests to other law enforcement agencies in his first year in office. That has allowed countless criminal illegal immigrants to remain in the United States, including many with violent criminal histories.

President Biden has vilified and demoralized the men and women entrusted to secure our borders, which has negatively impacted morale and recruitment for such vital and honorable national service. Biden administration policies have resulted in the largest number of monthly Southwest border encounters on record, including over 12,000 unaccompanied children in one month!

Well over 6 million illegal immigrants have crossed the Southwest border since the beginning of the administration, including gang members and over 100 apprehended who were on the terrorist watch list. The administration released tens of thousands of illegal aliens into the United States without ordering them to appear in court for immigration hearings on specific dates and allowed illegal aliens who tested positive for the coronavirus to enter the United States.

Drug overdose deaths have reached an all-time high due in large part to drugs pouring across the Southern border, with over 15,000 pounds of fentanyl being seized since President Biden took office. Fentanyl is the leading cause of death for 18-45-year-old Americans with over 70,000 deaths last year alone. Biden’s inaction is reminiscent of Nero fiddling while Rome burned.

Human smuggling and trafficking, enabled by President Biden’s border policies, create an estimated $1 billion per month industry for smugglers and traffickers. No wonder Mexico is becoming a narco-state. Our policies are funding them.

In New Hampshire, state offers of assistance to help control the Northern border have been repeatedly rejected by the administration. Over 67,000 illegal immigrants abused our Northern border last year and the numbers are expected to skyrocket. The Biden administration has even reduced funding to patrol the Northern border.

President Biden’s willful negligence of the border crisis is a failure to maintain and defend American sovereignty and arguably an impeachable offense. Let’s urge Congress to take all measures necessary to secure our borders from dangers to Americans – including impeachment.
