Well-known conservative activist Andrew Hemingway filed with the New Hampshire Secretary of State a new political action committee Monday – “4RG,” which stands for “For a Republican Governor” – to help elect a Republican governor this November. Hemingway will serve as Chairman and Treasurer and has two strategic partners, in Manchester and the Seacoast.
The PAC is already implementing a voter identification, research, and communications plan, despite the fact that the GOP nominee will not be selected until the mid-September primary, where Ovide Lamontagne and Kevin Smith will face off.
Hemingway is the past chairman of the Bristol Budget Committee and Republican Liberty Caucus of New Hampshire. He most recently served as the NH State Director for Newt Gingrich’s 2012 presidential run. He has also led state-level ballot initiatives including the campaign to ‘Stop the LLC Tax,’ which organized hundreds of business owners and collected thousands of signatures across the state in opposition to a 13.5% tax supported by former NH Senate Majority Leader and current Democratic candidate for governor, Maggie Hassan. The tax was repealed.
“4RG is my number-one day-to-day project through General Election Day, November 6,” Hemingway says. “4RG will work independently, strategically, and tirelessly to elect the next Republican New Hampshire governor.”
