Republican gubernatorial candidate Ovide Lamontagne announced the support of former New Hampshire governor and U.S. Senator Judd Gregg and his wife Kathy this week, adding their names to a roster of endorsements that includes Rep. Charlie Bass, taxpayer advocate Tom Thomson, and popular blog GraniteGrok.
“I am deeply honored to earn Judd and Kathy’s support today”, said Lamontagne, “and Bettie and I are truly grateful for their endorsement of our campaign. Judd Gregg is a true statesman who is one of New Hampshire’s most revered and respected leaders. Together with Kathy, the Greggs embody the definition of public servants, both civic and charitable. During his many years of proud service to the Granite State, Judd has been rightfully known as a leading advocate for fiscal responsibility, limited government and responsible stewardship of our environment and state heritage. His deep understanding of the challenges facing our state and nation, and his courage to lead on difficult issues, has made his counsel invaluable time and time again. I look forward to the benefit of that counsel during the course of our campaign.”
Announcing his support, Gregg said, “Kathy and I are proud to endorse Ovide Lamontagne for Governor today. Having served as Governor, I understand what it takes to serve in that challenging role. It is imperative that we elect a Governor who is a trusted conservative and tested leader, with the experience to get our economy moving again. Ovide has distinguished himself as a leader in the public, private and non-profit sectors, and it is this diverse leadership experience that have prepared him to serve with distinction as our next Governor. As our next Governor, Ovide can get our state moving in the right direction again, and Kathy and I are looking forward to working with him in the months to come.”
Gregg is scheduled to campaign with Ovide in Exeter later this month.
